Flight update for selected European destinations

We have been informed by various government sources that flight cancellations caused by the volcanic ash storm will likely continue throughout Friday and possibly further into the weekend. Travelers should remain flexible as to their transportation plans and consult their air carrier for specific flight details. We have links to major airlines in an earlier post on this site.

Volcano-related flight information for flights in/out Europe

The following sites may be of help to those flying in or out of the UK and other European destinations in view of today's volcano eruption in Iceland:

Many flights are canceled for April 15 and 16, 2010 due to poor visibility, engine risk and other safety issues. Please contact your airline or travel agent before you arrive at the airport; try to be as flexible as possible with your travel in the coming days or weeks.

Civil Emergency Message - South-Central Nebraska

Please note: the following message is transmitted at the request of county emergency management agencies in south-central Nebraska:
 

There are sporadic outages currently occurring with local, long distance and 9-1-1 phone systems in south-central Nebraska. Telephone companies are working on the problem but it is currently unknown when service will be fully restored.
 

Emergency management directors recommend that if anyone with an emergency who is dialing 9-1-1 and receiving a recorded message or a busy signal should contact their county communication center on its regular business line. Telephone numbers for these communication centers are as follows:

Thayer county:     402-768-6139
Fillmore county:     402-759-4441
Clay county:    402-762-3528
Adams county    402-461-2364
Webster county    402-746-2722
Nuckolls county    402225-2831
Saline county    402-821-2111
Jefferson county    402-300-1772
